About Art by Jing

Hello, I’m Jing, a Chinese designer, artist, and entrepreneur based in Finland.

I first came to Finland in 2012 to study at Aalto University. What began as a student journey gradually became a life, a family, and two creative brands. My entrepreneurial path started while I was still at university. For a Christmas Market, I experimented with recycled plastic bottles and transformed them into flower-inspired jewelry. To my surprise, people loved them. That small experience eventually grew into Upcycle with Jing, a sustainable jewelry brand that transforms discarded plastic into wearable art.

Flowers and nature have always been at the heart of my work. Whether I’m designing jewelry or painting with watercolor, I am inspired by the beauty that can be found in unexpected places.

After becoming a mother, watercolor painting became an important part of my creative life. It gave me moments of calm, joy, and self-expression during a busy season of life. What began as a personal practice gradually evolved into Art by Jing.

Every Art by Jing product starts as an original watercolor painting. I paint by hand, then carefully transform the artwork into stickers, washi tapes, keychains, magnets, and other small treasures that bring creativity into everyday life.

My work is influenced by Nordic nature, Chinese cultural roots, and a love of simple everyday moments. Through both Art by Jing and Upcycle with Jing, I hope to share beauty, creativity, and a deeper appreciation for the world around us.

Whether it’s a wildflower growing by the roadside or a discarded plastic bottle waiting for a second life, I believe beauty can be found in unexpected places.
